Reservoir Engineer

Responsibility : Conduct reservoir studies, simulations (Petrel & Eclipse); and contribute towards the operational management of the reservoir whilst ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the data analyzed. The engineer’s recommendation in support of optimized reservoir and petroleum field development is key to the medium to long-term production planning.

Primary Job Function :

  • Conduct and/or lead in-house reservoir development and reservoir evaluation projects. This would include both field reviews and updating of numerical simulation models.
  • Work within an asset team with the aim to establish and develop strategies to improve field production and recovery.
  • Provide production forecasts for annual planning and reserve reporting.
  • Perform Reservoir Engineering studies related to classical analytical techniques (material balance analysis, fractional flow, decline analysis, numerical techniques) for primary depletion and secondary recovery (water/gas injection) projects.
  • To attend data rooms, to gather and evaluate information and provide reservoir engineering input to the asset evaluation report
  • Coordinates Field Development Plan

Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering or Geophysical Sciences

  • Knowledge and experience in reservoir simulation is an advantage
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Reservoir/ Petroleum Engineering
  • Good command of both spoken and written English
  • Experience in petroleum development planning for both gas and oil fields
  • Extensive experience in marginal field monitoring and development
  • Possess appropriate supervisory skill and experience
  • Ability to work on the reservoir simulation software and to use other reservoir engineering software such as Eclipse, Petrel, well testing, material balance, etc.
Geologist

Responsibility : The geologist will be responsible for HC modeling and potential evaluations; reservoir geological studies; geochemical studies; stratigraphy studies, including petrophysics to support management decision-making for both existing assets and new business opportunities

Primary Job Function :

  • Overall technical integrity of geological studies
  • Accurate identification and reporting of key uncertainties in subsurface data interpretations

  • Recommending possible actions to ensure maximum efficiency in the development plan

  • Applying knowledge and expertise in reservoir characterization, defining and describing hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs
  • Building geocellular earth models (with various computer software products), incorporating geophysical attributes and petrophysical properties
  • Identifying key uncertainties in subsurface data and interpretations, preparing alternative possibilities as required
  • Making evaluations and recommendations from visits to data rooms.
  • Preparing development documents and respective budgets

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering or related fields
  • 10 years’ experience in petroleum geology, preferably in African fields
  • Experience in leading prospect evaluation, probabilistic volumetric estimation, risk & economic assessment
  • Experience in operation development plan, structural and reservoir characterization & modeling, volumetric
  • Experience in planning and evaluation of exploration and development wells
  • Familiar with operation jobs (drilling and operation geology) and be able to recommend data acquisition, wireline and mud log analysis
  • Good command of both written and spoken English
  • Possess appropriate supervisory skill and experience

  • Preparation of well proposal package
  • Plan, manage and perform integrated well and seismic studies in order to support the Exploration …Project Manager in the evaluation of Exploration opportunities
  • Assess volumetrics & Probability of Success of Exploration prospects
  • Prepare well proposals in cooperation with subsurface geologist and drilling engineers

Key activities:

  • Integrated interpretation of 3D seismic and well data. Definition of most prospective areas for seismic acquisition or 3D seismic data reprocessing planning.
  • Evaluation of prospects volumetrics and risk analysis, using workstation software
  • Preparation of well proposals in cooperation with subsurface geologist and drilling engineer.
  • Regional synthesis of geological and seismic data for New Venture opportunities evaluations.
  • Cooperation with Reservoir Department and Corporate Planning to provide input data for the economical evaluation of exploration projects.
  • Support the Exploration Projects Manager in the preparation of Project Review Documents and in the updating of data-base for relevant exploration projects.

Qualifications :

  • Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology or related fields
  • At least 10 years’ experience in petrophysical analysis in various sedimentary basins and geological settings
  • Good command of both written and spoken English
  • In-dept knowledge and experience in petrophysics and formation evaluation
  • Strong background in regional geology and sedimentary basins in Africa
  • Possess appropriate supervisory skill and experience
